Modern cars: Pedestrian Detection System and Adaptive Cruise Control
Pedestrian Detection System: is similar to the previous collision avoidance system, but it has the ability
to distinguish pedestrians and people crossing the street in front of a
vehicle. This system distinguishes a person walking on his feet or riding a
bicycle, wheelchair or stroller, and informs the driver of the presence
of pedestrians in front of the car, and it is required to reduce the speed.
If
the driver does not respond, the system will take the appropriate action from a
speed reduction or a complete stop. Also, this system varies in quality from
company to company.
Adaptive Cruise Control: is known in many cars as a cruise control, but modern technologies have made it
smarter, adapting the speed according to the presence and proximity of other
cars in front of the car. It automatically reduces the speed when the car
approaches another vehicle in front of it, and if it moves away, it restores
the speed as it was.
