Self-driving cars : pros and cons
Self-driving cars are the future of the
automotive industry, and although many like the feeling of driving and
communicating with the road, many also do not. For this reason, the
self-driving cars will target the group of people who want to be comfortable
while driving, here are the pros and cons of these cars:
Positives
*Safety: Self-driving cars can work to reduce
traffic accidents, and this means fewer deaths and injuries resulting from car
accidents, as computers, software, operating mechanisms and sensors will take
full lead. With the number of accidents declining, many lives and money will no
doubt be saved.
*Multitasking: When you are in a self-driving
car, you will be able to perform many tasks during this period. For example,
you can sleep, talk on your phone, or even do your office work and many more.
So, the time you drive will be more valuable.
*Independence: In some specific circumstances,
the elderly cannot drive cars themselves without the need for a driver, but
with self-driving cars, they will be able to go where they want without the
need for a private driver.
*Less traffic crisis: Driving cars will not cope
with traffic crises, as these cars have the ability to communicate with each
other and with nearby traffic lights, construction equipment and smart roads.
Negatives
*Additional spare parts: There is no doubt that
parts that are designed by humans may break down at some point, so spare parts
such as radars, cameras, sensors and the like have been around for some time
and were considered reliable technology today, but we cannot expect to work
long distance and long periods of Time. Therefore, self-driving cars will
require proper and proper maintenance which can be very dangerous if they fail.
*Higher cost: Self-driving cars have a higher
initial cost than regular cars, because high technologies require a lot of
money to manufacture them, so when companies like Tesla and other auto
manufacturers want to manufacture a self-driving car, you should know that
their pricing will be accordingly.
